On Monday afternoon, 23-year-old Shweta Deepak Surwase and her friend Suraj Sanjau Mule, 25, traveled from Aurangabad to Sulibhanjan Hills. Around 2 pm, Surwase got into the driver’s seat and began reversing the car. Despite being 50 meters away from the cliff initially, the car's speed increased as she continued to back up. Mule, recording the event, is heard shouting, "Clutch, clutch, clutch," in an attempt to warn her. He ran to stop her, but the car fell into the gorge, resulting in Surwase's death.
Witness Accounts and Aftermath
Witnesses reported that the car rolled down the 300-foot cliff before crashing into the gorge. The video captured the horrifying moment and showed the mangled remains of the vehicle at the bottom.The friends had visited the Dattatreya temple in Sulibhanjan. The Sulibhanjan hills attract many tourists during the rainy season, known for their picturesque scenery.
