Reel-making stunt ends in death: Bike plunges from flyover, claiming life of passerby

In an unfortunate incident in Ganjari area of Varanasi, a couple's reels-on-wheels stunt on a flyover claimed an innocent life when they lost control of their 'new bike' and the motorcycle toppled from a flyover, hitting two people in the car who were passing through an underpass below.

As per ToI report, a railways junior engineer, Sarvesh Shankar, lost his life on Saunday, and his friend, Aditya Verma, sustained serious injuries when a motorcycle toppled from a flyover, hitting them while they were passing through a flyover.

The incident reportedly happened as a youth and a girl were creating a reel (video) while riding the motorcycle on the flyover. Witnesses claimed that the youth and the girl fell from the flyover when they were making reel.


Area Inspector Shivpur Baijnath Singh told ToI that the boy lost control and both of them fell on the flyover. While the duo escaped, the motorcycle was flung over the railing and landed on the car.

"Efforts to locate the motorcycle rider are underway. Police are trying to identify the owner of the bike with the chassis number since no registration number was found on the vehicle," Singh told ToI.

After the incident, Police said nobody was found on the flyover, and no one came forward to claim the motorcycle. Police have registered a case against an unidentified person and are attempting to identify the owner.

Sarvesh, a resident of Ganjari in Cholapur, was assigned to the East Central Railway's electrical department in Prayagraj and had returned home to Varanasi on leave, according to police. He was on his way to the market with Aditya when disaster struck. "Sarvesh suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot," Police said.
