The 86-year-old had posted on social media on Monday saying that he underwent a routine check-up due to his age and related medical conditions.
In a statement published on his social media profiles, Tata said he remained in good spirits and that there was no cause for concern.

Ratan Tata's legacy
Tata became the chairman of the conglomerate in 1991 and ran the group founded by his great-grandfather more than a hundred years ago until 2012. He founded the brand's telecommunications arm called Tata Teleservices in 1996 and took IT company Tata Consultancy Services public in 2004.He stepped down as chairman in 2012 but retained the honorary title of chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, Tata Industries, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, and Tata Chemicals.
He played an important role in setting up the Apple iPhone manufacturing unit in India. Tata Group, under his guidance, acquired a majority stake in Wistron's iPhone assembly plant near Bengaluru in 2024. This acquisition made Tata Group the first Indian company to assemble iPhones, marking a significant step in Apple's diversification of its manufacturing base.
In addition to his business legacy, he is also a prominent investor in many start-ups, supporting over 30 ventures across various sectors.
