YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina have received summons from Mumbai police following the former's distasteful statements in the the reality show "India's got Latent", reported Times Now.

Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, and Raina have been asked to report to the police for questioning.

Meanwhile, Police complaints have been registered in Mumbai and Guwahati against Allahbadia and other participants in the episode, including comic Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, influencer Apoorva Makhija, and comedian Jaspreet Singh.


Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that an FIR had been filed against the group for allegedly promoting obscenity and engaging in a sexually explicit discussion.

Despite issuing a public apology, there is more trouble brewing for Allahbadia as the matter has escalated into a significant legal and political crisis, with multiple FIRs filed against him and the potential involvement of a parliamentary panel on Information Technology (I-T).

According to a TOI report, Several Members of Parliament have complained and the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology is reportedly considering summoning Allahbadia.

He may be issued a formal notice to appear before the panel and answer questions related to his controversial remarks.


Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi from Shiv Sena (UBT) has said that she will raise the issue in the committee, stating that abusive language in the name of comedy content is unacceptable.

She emphasised that having a platform does not give anyone the right to make inappropriate remarks. Highlighting Allahbadia’s influence, she pointed out that even political leaders, including the Prime Minister, have associated with his platform.
