Ram Lalla idol consecration ceremony cost Rs 113 crore: Details revealed by Trust

Arrangements for the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya on January 22 cost Rs 113 crore, according to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, reported TOI.

The trust also disclosed that Rs 1,800 crore has been spent on the construction of the temple so far, with an additional Rs 670 crore anticipated for the next two phases by year-end.

During its recent meeting, the trust presented annual accounts for the financial year 2023-24, noting a total expenditure of Rs 676 crore and an income of Rs 363.34 crore. Of this income, Rs 204 crore was earned through bank interest, and Rs 58 crore came from contributions.


Trust general secretary Champat Rai stated, "The total projected expenditure between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, would be Rs 850 crore."

In the last four years, devotees have donated approximately 20kg of gold and 13 quintals of silver to the temple. The trust will file its income tax return in September.

The disclosed expenditure reflects the ongoing efforts and significant resources allocated towards completing the temple construction and preparations for the consecration ceremony. The trust remains committed to its financial responsibilities and transparency in handling donations and income.
