Rajkot launches mega drive to clear 1,400 illegal homes along Aji river
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation launched a mega demolition drive to remove over 1,400 illegal homes along a 2.5-km stretch of the Aji riverbed in Jangleshwar. Acting under state orders, civic teams deployed 65+ machines as 2,500 police personnel secured the zone. Officials say utilities were cut and voluntary evacuations assisted, while residents protested displacement fears.
