Rajasthan Budget Highlights: FM Diya Kumari says govt working to make state $350 bn economy

Rajasthan Finance Minister and state Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari presented the budget for 2024-25 on Wednesday.

In her budget speech, Kumari highlighted that the govt is working on 10 resolutions, including making Rajasthan a $350 billion economy and developing quality infrastructure.

"For the first time, nine greenfield expressways of more than 2,750 km will be constructed in the state," she said.


She also laid emphasis on job creation alongside making youth policy and said, "Rajasthan govt has taken resolution to fill 4 lakh vacancies in five years."

Further, she also announced that Rs 15,000 crore will be spent on supplying tap water to 25 lakh rural houses this year.

Kumari proposed Rs 27,000 crore for the health sector and electricity connection to 2 lakh households, Rs 100 crore for corridor at Khatu Shyam temple, and formation of Rajasthan Tourism Development Board.

The minister also said that the state has taken steps to curb paper leak incidents that happened in the previous government.

Action has been taken against the mafia and more than 100 arrests have been made, Kumari added.

This is the first full budget for the new BJP-led government in Rajasthan after Kumari had presented a Vote on Account (Interim Budget) in the assembly on February 8.
