Police have been deployed in various parts of Rajasthan after the Rajput community outfits have called for a state-wide bandh in protest against the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena. Several shops and business establishments in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer have been reportedly shut today due to the ongoing protests. The supporters of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have organized the state-wide bandh. Karni Sena activists have initiated a sit-in protest in Jaipur to express their grievances over the killing of their leader. The incident occurred in broad daylight on Tuesday when Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi was shot in Jaipur, an incident that was also captured on camera.

Both the Congress and the BJP have engaged in a political blame game following the tragic death of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. BJP leader Rajendra Rathore condemned the incident, describing it as "unfortunate." He criticized the law and order situation under the Congress-led Rajasthan Government and stated that it has tarnished the outgoing administration's reputation. Rathore demanded immediate action in the case and suggested the formation of a special investigation team to ensure swift justice. He further emphasized that the culprits should be given the strictest punishment of capital punishment.

Balmukund Acharya, the newly elected MLA from Hawa Mahal in Jaipur and a BJP leader, held the outgoing Ashok Gehlot government responsible for the incident.

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari expressed his condolences and condemned the incident. However, he also raised concerns about the future actions of the BJP government, stating, "If this is just the beginning of the BJP's rule, what can we expect next?"

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his sadness over the murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, saying, "The incident of murder of Shri Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi is very sad. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this loss."

Rajasthan DGP told ANI that killers had come to Karni Sena leader's house on the pretext of discussing something. In this incident, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi and one of his bodyguards were shot and an accused accompanying the killers was also shot, he said.
