The weather agency has predicted rains to continue for the next few days. Starting from June 14 to 17, the city is predicted to experience drizzling. However, the city can expect heavy rains between June 18-19.
As local trains remains an essential means of transport for Mumbai, Western Railway through its 'Mission Mumbai' has announced a series of measures to tackle trains delays among other issues. Western Railway has created additional waterways through micro tunnelling to increase storm water drainage capacity.
Residents of South Mumbai have been suffering due to power cut lasting for over five hours. Residents and shopkeepers in parts of Bhuleshwar and Kalbadevi faced power outage for over five and half hours on Thursday evening, and there was no respite despite several calls to BEST. Residents in other parts of the city also faced power cuts, which is a major inconvenience in this sultry weather, reported ToI.
"Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 3-4 days," said IMD in its daily bulletin.
