Rain lashes parts of Delhi-NCR; orange alert for today

The IMD has issued an orange alert, warning of moderate rainfall in the city on June 30. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature will come down to 33-34 degrees Celsius by July 1, the weather office said.

Delhiites finally got some respite from scorching heat on Thursday as rain lashed several parts of the city. Weather turned pleasant after morning showers at many parts of the National Capital Region, including in Noida.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared the arrival of monsoon in Delhi-NCR later in the day.

A video shared by news agency ANI showed rains lashed the Dwarka area of Delhi today morning.

The southwest monsoon usually arrives in the national capital on June 27.
