Rahul Gandhi viral video: Many BJP leaders have shared the video in which the Congress leader is seen giving the dog biscuit to a party worker
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found himself amidst a controversy after a video surfaced from his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Jharkhand, where he appears to offer biscuits rejected by a dog to a party worker. The video, widely shared on social media, drew criticism from BJP leaders, including Amit Malviya, the head of the party's IT cell.

“Just a few days ago, Congress President Khargeji compared the party’s booth agents to dogs and here Rahul Gandhi is feeding biscuits to a dog during his visit and when the dog did not eat, he gave the same biscuits to his worker.”

“If a party whose president and crown prince treats its party workers like dogs, then it is natural for such a party to disappear,” he said.

A subsequent tweet by BJP leader Pallavi CT claimed that Rahul Gandhi disrespected Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, a former Congress leader, by offering him biscuits from the same plate as the dog.

"RaGa offered biscuits from same plate as eaten by his pet Pidi but Himantada REFUSED to eat those biscuits; his self respect was more important to him & he left the Congress party," BJP leader Pallavi CT tweeted.

In response, Sarma in a social media post said: "Pallavi ji, not only Rahul Gandhi but the entire family could not make me eat that biscuit. I am a proud Assamese and Indian . I refused to eat and resign from the Congress."

It is to be noted that in a earlier tweet, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma had said "who knows him better than me. Still remember you busy feeding biscuits to him while we wanted to discuss urgent Assam's issues" in reference to the Congress leader's pet dog.

On Monday, during his 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra', Rahul Gandhi met former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana Soren, days after the JMM executive president was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case. Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said Gandhi met Kalpana Soren a few minutes before a public rally at the historic Shaheed Maidan in the HEC Complex in Ranchi and a few minutes after the JMM-Congress-RJD-CPI(ML) alliance the BJP and its allies on the floor of the assembly.
