The State Government is planning to invite AICC leader Rahul Gandhi to open its ambitious jeans park project in Ballari, which is under development.

Ahead of the launch, Industries Minister MB Patil has announced a steep cut in the allotment price – by half its earlier fixed price of Rs 1.35 crore per acre. The government is setting up a modern jeans park to reestablish Ballari’s reputation as a jeans manufacturing hub.

The apparel hub would support small and medium sized textile entrepreneurs, enable faster project grounding and add a large number of jobs in North Karnataka, Patil said.

“This decisive step strengthens the textile & apparel ecosystem, driving industrial expansion, job creation, and regional economic empowerment,” the minister said in a post on X.
