Pune colder than Jammu! Maharashtra seeing unusual chill this season
According to weather experts, the drop in minimum temperatures in Maharashtra was location-specific, influenced by factors such as urban or rural areas, green cover, farms, and open spaces.

In New Delhi, the minimum temperature was 15.2°C on Friday morning, compared to the normal 16.7°C. In contrast, Pune's NDA area recorded a minimum temperature of 13.9°C, while Shivajinagar was slightly higher at 14.4°C. Jalgaon experienced a low of 10.9°C, significantly below the usual 17.1°C. Mahabaleshwar, a popular hill station, marked 15.6°C with a forecast of fog and mist in the morning and a partly cloudy sky later in the day.
Satara recorded a minimum of 15.7°C, cooler than the typical 17.8°C for this season. Nashik also witnessed a cool morning, with temperatures dropping to 15°C, in contrast to the usual minimum of over 18°C during this time of the year.

In North India, Dharamshala recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4°C, surpassing the normal low of 12.7°C. Shimla experienced a relatively mild 12.6°C, which was higher than Jalgaon and almost equivalent to Pashan at 12.8°C. Katra reported a minimum of 14.1°C, exceeding the expected 13.3°C, higher than the minimum temperature in NDA and Jalgaon, but similar to Pashan. In Jammu's Vaishno Devi, the temperature stood at 14°C.
Weather expert Vineet Kumar Singh noted, "Shivajinagar's minimum temperature dropped below 15°C for the first time this season on Friday, marking a deviation of 2° below the normal. According to the latest IMD's global forecast system, the minimum temperature in Pune is expected to remain in the range of 15-17°C for the next five days."
Medical practitioner Dr. Pranita Joshi advised people to stay hydrated to stay healthy in these unusual weather conditions.
