The event is scheduled to take place around 12:30 PM via video conferencing.
Among the highlights of the event is the inauguration of the Pune Metro section, which spans from the District Court to Swargate. This marks a significant milestone as it completes the Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1).
"Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Swargate-Katraj Extension of Pune Metro Phase-1 to be developed at the cost of around Rs 2,955 crore. This southern extension of around 5.46 km is completely underground with three stations namely Market Yard, Padmavati and Katraj," read the press release by the Prime Minister's office.
The cost of the underground section from the District Court to Swargate is approximately Rs 1,810 crore.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation and inaugurate the new Solapur Airport, further enhancing infrastructure and economic development in the region.
"Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Memorial for Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School at Bhidewada," the PMO stated.
