President Murmu confers former BJP chief LK Advani with Bharat Ratna at his residence

Further, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu were also present on this occasion. The location was chosen keeping in view the ailing health of Advani.
PM Modi, earlier in February, had announced that the senior BJP leader will be conferred the Bharat Ratna.
Born in Karachi, Pakistan on November 8, 1927, L.K. Advani, who served as the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party for an extended period since 1980, had a notable political career spanning nearly three decades.
He held key positions such as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee's leadership from 1999 to 2004.
