Prajwal Revanna
A local court in Bengaluru on Thursday extended former Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna police custody to June 10 in the obscene video scandal.

Revanna's custody was to end today. He is presently under the Special Investigation Team's (SIT) custody and was arrested just as he landed in Bengaluru last week.

The MP, who had led the country soon after the polling ended on April 26 as the explicit video clippings started surfacing, was produced before the Special Court of People's Representatives later in the day.

Notably, the grandson of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda also lost in the 18th Lok Sabha elections from Hassan to Congress' Shreyas Patel.

Following Hassan's April 26 election, the JD(S) suspended him from the party due to allegations sexual abuse came to light.

Revanna found himself at the centre of a political storm, when pen-drives containing sex videos allegedly involving him were distributed in his constituency days before the LS polls there.

The SIT had arrested two people in connection with the case on last week. Naveen Gowda, 34, and Chethan Kumar B C, 32, were taken in while they were leaving the Karnataka High Court following a hearing of their anticipatory bail pleas. They, along with two others, had been missing since April 23 when election officials filed a complaint in Hassan over the distributed pen drives.
