NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Sunday said that a portal will promptly inform jail authorities about court orders to release prisoners.

"We are launching a portal where judicial orders of release of a person are transferred to jails, trial courts and high courts for immediate compliance," the CJI said at an event at the Supreme Court on the occasion of the Constitution Day. The portal, 'FASTER 2.0', is now live and allows immediate intimation to the concerned authorities.

The CJI launched another initiative, a Hindi version of the e-SCR portal, on which the Supreme Court's judgements can be accessed.


President Murmu Advocates All India Judicial Service Exam
Speaking at the event, President Droupadi Murmu advocated for the establishment of an All India Judicial Service examination. "For IAS, IPS, there is an all India examination. There can be an All India Judicial Service which can select brilliant young stars and nurture and promote their talent from the lawyer level to higher level," she said.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar underlined the need for separation of powers. "When the constitution was evolved...the message was loud and clear... It is in the exclusive domain of Parliament and it is the Parliament alone which is the architect of the Constitution to the exclusion of any other agency... be it executive or judiciary," he said.
