Police is verifying the UNHCR cards of 26 Rohingyas detained in Assam

Cachar district superintend of police Ramandeep Kaur that three Rohingya muslim families comprising 26 members belonging to the Jammu refugee camp came to Guwahati via Delhi and by road they arrived in southern Assam in three vehicles.

“We are now verifying their UNHCR cards and their motive in visiting the northeastern region. We are also probing who and why guided them to move from their Jammu refugee camp to Assam,” Kaur told the media.

They came from from Jammu, were detained in Cachar.
