Police arrest Noida school housekeeping staff member for sexually assaulting 3-year-old girl

A housekeeping staff member has been arrested for allegedly raping a three-year-old student at a private school in Noida last week, reported TOI.

The accused, a resident of Nithari who was hired on a contract basis a few months ago, reportedly took the girl to an area outside the school's CCTV coverage on October 9 and sexually assaulted her, TOI reported citing police sources.

According to the TOI report, after noticing their daughter was unusually quiet following her return from school, her parents took her to a doctor, where she complained of severe abdominal pain. In a complaint filed at the Sector 20 police station on October 10, the family stated that a private doctor, who examined the child, found injuries on her private parts and suggested possible “molestation.”


The child later confided in her parents, stating that a man who distributed plates at the school had “pricked” her private parts, causing her pain. Following the incident, the girl refused to go back to school, her parents reported.

Noida DCP Ram Badan Singh confirmed that the accused, who worked in the school’s housekeeping department, has been charged under Section 65(2) (rape) of the BNS and relevant sections of the POCSO Act. He was arrested on October 10, and the school’s management will also be questioned regarding the incident, according to the TOI report.

“Given the security measures in place, the incident in question seems unlikely. No evidence has been found in the CCTV footage reviewed so far. However, we are fully supporting the parents and the police as the investigation continues. The school has requested a copy of the FIR," the school expressed in a statement, noted TOI.
