PM Narendra Modi debuts as lyricist for Tanishk Bagchi-Dhvani Bhanushali's music video 'Garbo' ahead of Navratri

Ahead of the Navratri festivities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprised Indians on Saturday with a 190-second Garba song he penned years ago. Titled 'Garbo,' the song is voiced by singer Dhvani Bhanushali and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. It was released under the banner of Jjust Music, a music label founded by actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani.

PM Modi also shared that he has written a new Garba in the past few days, which he plans to share during this Navratri, starting tomorrow.

"It brings back many memories. I haven't written in years, but I did manage to write a new Garba over the last few days, which I will share during Navratri," PM Modi tweeted.


In response to Bhanushali's tweet, the Prime Minister thanked Bhanushali, Bagchi, and the Jjust Music team for the "lovely rendition" of the Garba he had "penned years ago."



Bhanushali in her tweet said composer Tanishk Bagchi and she loved the Garba penned by the prime minister and they "wanted to make a song with a fresh rhythm, composition and flavour."

Within just three hours of being posted on the YouTube channel of the music label, the 'Garbo' song garnered over 240,000 views.

Navratri is one of the most popular and widely celebrated Hindu festivals across India. However, it's in Gujarat where it transforms into a nine-night dance festival, perhaps the longest in the world. For nine consecutive nights, people in villages and cities of the state come together in open spaces to celebrate.

The Ras Garba music often incorporates stories of the relationships between Lord Krishna and the Gopis, along with their emotions.
