PM Modi visits Kashmir, views Shankaracharya Hill in Srinagar: Pics

Images from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Srinagar were went viral on X (previously Twitter) on Thursday. According to PM Modi, he had the chance to see the "majestic Shankaracharya Hill from a distance." After Article 370 was removed five years ago, PM Modi is making his first trip to Kashmir.

Posting images on X, PM Modi wrote, "Upon reaching Srinagar a short while ago, had the opportunity to see the majestic Shankaracharya Hill from a distance."

PM Modi was in Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday where he unveiled development projects worth more than Rs 6,400 crore and addressed a public meeting. He participated in the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir' programme and dedicated to nation about Rs 5000 crore worth programme for boosting agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir. This was the first visit of the Prime Minister to Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.

"Whenever I came here after 2014, I have always said that I am working hard only to win your hearts and I am seeing that I have been able to win your hearts. I will keep trying hard. This is Modi ki guarantee and you know that 'Modi ki grantee' means, there is a guarantee of fulfilling the guarantee," PM Modi said while addressing a public gathering in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The PM also said that Jammu and Kashmir touching new heights of development after the abrogation of Article 370.

Standing tall above the city of Srinagar, Shankaracharya Hill, also known as Takht-e-Sulaiman, rises 1100 feet and is one of the city's most prominent landmarks. The peak is adorned by an 8th-century Shankaracharya temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Hikers can enjoy breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains, making it a popular tourist destination.
