On Monday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the Padma Awards 2024 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. One of the wonderful moments of the program was a video of Prime Minister Modi humbly touching the feet of Padma Shri Drona Bhuyan.

Who is Drona Bhuyan?

Drona Bhuyan is a master of traditional culture's 'Suknani Ojapali and Deodhani dance'. Shri Bhuyan is now a successful leader of Suknani Sangeet and Deodhani Dance, having made significant contributions to the development of Darrang District's performing arts. Shri Bhuyan has got numerous honors. Some of the prizes are the "GURU TILE" from the Ministry of Culture in 2009, the "MEERA AWARD 2012" organized by Rastriya Natya and Loka Kala Mahotsav in Agra, the "Ek Kalin Bota 2019" and "Bishnu Rabha Bota 2021" by Cultural Affairs, Assam, Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, and the "Assam Gaurav 2023".
