The UK visit is scheduled following an invitation by PM Keir Starmer to hold wide-ranging discussions on the entire gamut of India-UK bilateral relations.
The leaders are also said to review the progress of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) with a specific focus on trade and economy, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate, health, education and people-to-people ties, said a release by the Ministry of External Affairs.
During his UK visit, PM Modi is also expected to call on His Majesty King Charles III.
PM Modi and Dr. Muizzu, President of Maldives will hold high-level discussions on key bilateral and regional issues, the government said. This visit marks the Indian Prime Minister's third visit to the Maldives and first one since the beginning of Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's presidency.
Leaders of both countries are said to exchange MoUs aimed at deepening cooperation across various sectors of mutual interest. They will also inaugurate several joint projects together.
Muizzu and Modi will also discuss progress in the implementation of the India-Maldives Joint Vision for a ‘Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership’.
Modi will be the ‘Guest of Honour’ at the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Independence of Maldives. This visit marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Maldives.
This visit carries profound significance as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Maldives’ independence and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and India, as said in a release by the Maldives' president Muizzu.
PM Modi made his last bilateral visit to the Maldives in June 2019.
