PM Modi terms Union Budget 2026-27 'highway of opportunities', says it reflects empowered presence of nation's feminine strength

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hailed the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today in Lok Sabha. PM Modi said the budget will cut inflation and fiscal deficit, adding that it is a mission for Viksit Bharat 2047. Hailing the budget as 'historic and highway of opportunities', the Prime Minister said the Union Budget gives energy to reforms and is a roadmap for the future.

"We are heading towards the third largest economy," he said in his address, saying that this budget is for 'Atamnirbhar Bharat'. Budget reflects India's Nari Shakti, PM Modi said. There is a big push for rare earths, MSMEs in the budget and it gives a big boost to the bio pharma sector, he added.

PM Modi calls budget 'historic'

"The budget is historic and reflects the empowered presence ofthe nation's feminine strength," PM Modi said. "This year's Budget is foundation for our journey towards Viksit Bharat by 2047. It will give India's 'reform express' new energy and momentum. The Budget strengthens foundation of India's bright future."


"I am happy that steps have been taken to increase tourism in this budget, especially in the North Eastern region," PM Modi said. He said the tax cuts made in the Budget will make India data hub of the world. "This is a Yuva Shakti Budget," he said.

"This budget embodies vision of trust-based governance, human-centric economic framework," PM Modi said in his address.
