PM Modi releases additional Rs 2,000 cr under PM Kisan Yojana for Maharashtra farmers ahead of key polls

Ahead of assembly elections, farmers in Maharashtra also received an additional Rs 2,000 crore under the state's Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana. In total, Maharashtra has so far received about Rs 32,000 crore, benefiting around 1.2 crore farmers across 17 previous instalments.
The funds were transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during a significant event in Washim, Maharashtra. With this installment, the total disbursement under PM-KISAN now exceeds Rs 3.45 lakh crore, benefiting more than 11 crore farmers since its launch in 2019.
PM Modi also inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Washim in a bid to celebrate the rich heritage of Banjara community.
During the event, Modi is also introduced advanced agricultural technologies, including an indigenous sex-sorted semen production system, which is expected to reduce costs by Rs 200 per dose, and a Unified Genomic Chip for livestock, developed by the Animal Husbandry Department.
