PM Modi on Mann Ki Baat: Coronavirus has not gone away, we should be careful

Addressing the 83rd episode of his monthly radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday warned that the people of India must not let their guard down against Covid-19 and should be careful as coronavirus has not gone away.

He also addressed the rising number of 'unicorns' in India. "Till the year 2015, there used to be hardly nine or ten Unicorns in the country. You will be very happy to know that now India is flying high even in the world of Unicorns. It is true, this is the era of start-up, and it is also true that in the world of start-up, India is leading in a way in the world today. Start-ups are getting record investments year after year. This sector is progressing very fast," PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister further said, "Today, there are over 70 startups in India that have crossed the valuation of more than 1 billion. Many Indians are providing solutions to global problems through their startups." Indian youth are also contributing to the solution of global problems through start-ups, the PM said.


PM Modi termed this development as the 'turning point' of India's growth story. "People are now not only dreaming of becoming job seekers but also becoming job creators. This will further strengthen India's stature on the global stage," he said.

This was the second last edition of the year.
