The two global leaders also reaffirmed their shared commitment to combating terrorism during the interaction. Netanyahu also expressed his desire to meet Modi in person in the near future to carry forward the discussions.
In a post on X, the prime minister said he was “happy to speak with my friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” and extended his best wishes to him and to the people of Israel on the occasion of the new year.
He noted that the discussion covered both bilateral cooperation and the evolving regional situation.
“We discussed ways to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Israel in the coming year. We also exchanged views on the regional situation and reaffirmed our shared determination to combat terrorism with even greater resolve,” PM Modi wrote.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Prime Minister of Israel also released a statement describing the conversation as “fruitful” and focused on deepening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the area of national security.
According to Netanyahu’s office, the Israeli prime minister noted the strength of India–Israel ties and the vast untapped potential of the partnership.
“We discussed the strength of India–Israel relations and how we can unleash the boundless potential of this partnership for the benefit of our peoples,” the statement said.
This marks the second interaction the two leaders have had in a month with the last being on December 11.
