PM Modi likely to join 1 lakh people in Kolkata to chant Bhagavad Gita together

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to join 'Ek Lakh Gita Path,' a mass chanting event of Bhagavad Gita in Kolkata on December 24, with around 1 lakh participants.

Organized by various religious groups, BJP's Sukanta Majumdar affirmed the PM's acceptance of the invitation. Described as a non-political gathering, invites will extend to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and others.

The TMC sees it as a BJP strategic move for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. In 2019, BJP secured 18 of 42 seats in West Bengal's Lok Sabha elections.
