PM Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually inaugurated the Global Patidar Business Summit being held in Surat.

The three-day business summit is being organised by Sardardham, an organisation devoted to the Patidar community in the state. Two earlier editions of the summit were held in 2018 and 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister laid importance on self-reliance and said it is the constant effort of the government through its policies and its actions that such an environment should be created in the country that youths of even ordinary families become entrepreneurs, dream and take pride in entrepreneurship.

Reminding the audience of the various schemes initiated by the Union government to facilitate entrepreneurship, Modi said that every small and big business is contributing to national progress. He hit out at his detractors and asked the elders of the community to remind the youngsters who hit the road with placards about the situation before schemes like Jyotigram were initiated that led to electrification of villages.

The PM asked the community to create groups consisting of both experienced and young members to work on issues of national interest and document ideas, global good practices and government policies.

He said subjects such as fintech, skill development and financial inclusion can be taken for suggesting intervention in government and in academia. Similarly, he said, the National Education Policy can be taken up for exploration of the best way of total implementation and suggesting useful intervention at every level.
