PM Modi in Germany, holds talks with Olaf Scholz

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Berlin on Monday on the first leg of his three-nation Europe trip. This is Modi's fifth visit to Germany after becoming Prime Minister.

Modi was given a rousing welcome from the Indian diaspora in the country. The diaspora organised dance and other cultural programmes to greet the Prime Minister at the Brandenburg Gate.

Community members were excited to have such a close encounter with the PM. Modi praised an Indian-origin boy, Ashutosh, who sang a patriotic song for him.

A little girl, Manya Mishra, presented the Prime Minister his portrait. He took a picture with Manya and also signed the portrait for her.

Later in the day, PM Modi was received by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in a ceremonial welcome at the Federal Chancellery in Berlin upon his arrival for talks. He was accorded the Guard of Honour at the forecourt of the Federal Chancellery in Berlin.

Both PM Modi and Chancellor Scholz then reviewed the full range of bilateral ties. The discussions covered key areas of bilateral cooperation under the overall strategic partnership, as well as regional and global developments.
