PM Modi flags off 5 new Vande Bharat Express trains in Bhopal; says the trains will boost economic connectivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off five new Vande Bharat trains physically from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on Tuesday.

In his interaction with BJP booth workers in Bhopal, he said the trains will boost the economic connectivity in the country.

He also said, "I congratulate my brothers and sisters in Madhya Pradesh as they get two Vande Bharat Express trains today. The journey from Bhopal to Jabalpur will be faster and more comfortable now."


Vande Bharat trains that have been flagged off are-Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Indore Vande Bharat Express; Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express; Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express; Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express and Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express.

The Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express will connect Mahakaushal region (Jabalpur) to Central region (Bhopal) of Madhya Pradesh. The train will be nearly two hours and 30 minutes faster than the existing fastest train on the route. Tourist places in the region will see a boon by the enhanced connectivity.
The Ranchi-Patna Vande Bharat Express will be the first of such kind for Jharkhand and Bihar. It will boost connectivity between Patna and Ranchi and will help the commuters save one hour and 25 minutes of journey time on the existing route.

Meanwhile, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express will connect major cities in Karnataka- Dharwad, Hubballi, and Davangere with the silicon city, Bengaluru. It will benefit students, tourists, industrialists etc.

The newly launched train will be faster by about thirty minutes compared to the fastest train on the route.

The Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express will be Goa’s first Vande Bharat Express. Covering a distance of 586 km, it will connect Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Goa’s Madgaon station. It will also link Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Khed, Ratnagiri, Kankavali stations in Maharashtra and Thivim in Goa.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Jyotiraditya Scindia, among others, were also present on the occasion.

On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Lalpur and Pakaria in Shahdol district has been postponed due to the possibility of heavy rains on Tuesday, however, his program in Bhopal was not cancelled.
