PM Modi calls for 'strictest' punishment for those involved in NEET paper leak

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the NDA Parliamentary Party meeting that the government acted swiftly after reports of the alleged NEET paper leak surfaced, leading to the arrest and imprisonment of 13 people, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday.

Speaking during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, Rijiju said the Prime Minister emphasised that the government stands with students and that the alleged paper leak is a matter of national concern that should not be politicised.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the government prioritised protecting students' interests by conducting the NEET re-examination without delay and declaring the results promptly.

According to Rijiju, the Prime Minister said the government has taken stringent measures to prevent such paper leaks in the future. He added that those found involved in the alleged paper leak racket have been arrested and sent to jail, and urged states to take similarly strict action wherever such incidents occur.

The Prime Minister appealed for the strictest possible punishment for those involved, with the support of the country's top lawyers, to ensure exemplary action is taken and such incidents do not recur. He also stressed the need to punish the guilty and collaboratively establish a foolproof system, Rijiju said.
