Operation Sindoor, launched early Wednesday, involved precision strikes by Indian Armed Forces on nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, the targets were carefully selected to avoid civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar reiterated that while India does not seek to escalate tensions, any military provocation would be met with a firm and decisive response. His statement follows the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which has sharply intensified tensions with Pakistan.
“It is not our intention to escalate the situation, but if there are military attacks on us, we will respond very firmly,” Jaishankar said, underlining that India's retaliatory strikes under Operation Sindoor were “targeted and measured.”
