Highlighting India's economic and technological progress, Modi said the country is building a new manufacturing ecosystem "from chips to ships", is working towards becoming a developed nation, and is pursuing the goal of building its own space station.
He also said the India-Australia partnership in the areas of education, skills and innovation is deepening and strengthening.
"The foundation of India's big dreams and great aspirations is its people — 'We, the People'," the Prime Minister said, adding that the mantra of "Nagrik Devo Bhava" has become the guiding principle of governance in India.
Referring to India's counter-terrorism operation, Modi said, "During Operation Sindoor, explosions were taking place at terrorist bases and their echoes were heard across the world."
Addressing the gathering, Modi also said, "We Indians are like sugar in milk, they make it sweeter. Wherever we go, spread love and goodwill. The milk in your homes may be Australian, but the tea is Indian." The crowd erupted in chants of "Modi, Modi" after the Prime Minister remarked, "Arey, Chaiwala."
"India of the 21st century is working towards becoming a developed nation," he said.
Recalling his earlier visit to Australia, Modi said, "When I visited Australia in 2014, it was the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister in 28 years. You may recall that I had then said you would not have to wait another 28 years."
"Over the past 12 years, this is my third visit to Australia, a hat-trick, in a way. It reflects the heights India-Australia relations have reached," he said.
Crediting the Indian diaspora for strengthening bilateral ties, Modi said, "And do you know who deserves the biggest credit for this? Not Modi, but all of you. The Indian diaspora has played the biggest role."
