Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a stop to accept a painting from a girl depicting his mother in Shimla.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a stop at the Mall Road of Shimla to accept a painting from a girl depicting his mother on Tuesday. The incident took place during PM Modi’s visit to Himachal Pradesh.

PM Modi’s visit to Himachal Pradesh was aimed to mark the eighth anniversary of the Modi Government. The PM was accompanied by chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur.

While addressing a public rally in the state, Modi said that after the BJP came to power, his government removed nine crore unentitled names from various lists of government-scheme beneficiaries.


The prime minister will interact virtually with the beneficiaries of 16 government schemes from across the country, he had said. Modi will also release Rs 21,000 crore to 80 crore farmers as the 11th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi.

The Assembly election in Himachal Pradesh is scheduled to be held later this year.

Modi last visited Himachal Pradesh on December 27 to address a rally at the Paddal ground in Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur's home district Mandi to mark the fourth anniversary of the BJP government in the state.
