PM Mementoes e-Auction 2026: 1,498 items to go under the hammer from September 17

Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Wednesday launched the 8th edition of the PM Mementoes e-Auction in New Delhi, with 1,498 mementoes presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various occasions set to be auctioned from September 17. The auction will be conducted through the official PM Mementoes portal.

The collection includes items representing India's artistic traditions, traditional craftsmanship, cultural practices, spiritual traditions and sporting achievements. The mementoes have been sourced from different parts of the country, with West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar and Odisha among the states with significant representation.

The latest edition features 50 identified Hero Objects. These include a silver memento of Lord Ram from Karnataka with a base price of Rs 13.50 lakh, a silver replica of Kakatiya Kala Thoranam at Rs 9 lakh, a framed Tree of Life Gond art painting at Rs 7.50 lakh, Jagannath Parivar on Chariot at Rs 6 lakh and a 99.99 fine gold-plated framed Radha Krishna artwork at Rs 5.40 lakh.

Shekhawat said the PM Mementoes e-Auction has received participation from citizens, collectors and institutions through successive editions. The initiative provides an opportunity for the public to acquire the mementoes and explore India's artistic and cultural traditions.

The proceeds from the auction will be transferred to the Namami Gange Programme. Shekhawat said the initiative connects India's cultural heritage with the national mission for the rejuvenation and conservation of the River Ganga.

The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, under the Ministry of Culture, has coordinated the documentation, exhibition and operational aspects of the initiative. The process also involves the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for technical and portal-related support, concerned authorities for evaluation and valuation, State Bank of India for payment gateway support, and the designated Fine Art Handling Agency for packing and delivery of purchased objects.

An accompanying exhibition will allow visitors to view the mementoes and appreciate their artistic and cultural significance before participating in the e-auction. The Culture Ministry has invited citizens, collectors, institutions, corporates and art enthusiasts to visit the exhibition and participate in the auction.

On Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge's challenge to BJP leaders to recite the complete Vande Mataram without using a teleprompter, Shekhawat said, "Let Priyank ji come and stand before me anytime."
