Addressing the Rising Rajasthan Summit on Monday, Modi said development, led by the mantra of 'Reform, Perform and Transform,' is visible in every sector, and that every expert and investor in the world is very excited about India.
He said the role of the PLI scheme - increasing manufacturing in India - is also expanding.
"There is a lot of enthusiasm in electronics, specialty steel, automobiles and auto components, solar and pharmaceuticals," he said.
"Investment of about Rs 1.25 lakh crore has been made in India due to the PLI schemes. Products worth about Rs 11 lakh crore have been manufactured and exports have increased by Rs 4 lakh crore," he said.
In the last 10 years, India almost doubled the size of its economy, he said, and also highlighted the efforts towards democratisation of digital technology. "Platforms such as UPI, direct benefit transfer schemes, GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) showcase the strength of Bharat's digital ecosystem," he said.
Earlier, speaking at the event, Rajasthan chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said agreements for investment worth Rs 35 lakh crore have been signed during the summit.
According to Sharma, the summit was being organised in the first year of his tenure as CM so that relevant necessary steps can be initiated on time to convert the investment proposals into on ground projects. As many as 32 countries are participating in the summit this year, he said.
