The government, he said, was aware of the impact of the war on studies and would take a call on this. Most of these students have sought government permission to attend classes and complete their courses in India.
The SC on Monday disposed of two petitions after the Centre contended that all students have been brought back from the war-torn Ukraine. Attorney general KK Venugopal informed the court that the task of evacuation had been undertaken successfully. He placed the estimates of those evacuated at 22,500.

"Mammoth efforts have been made. Everyone has been evacuated," he said, urging the SC to dispose of both petitions. One of them was filed by advocate Vishal Tiwari and another on behalf of a girl trapped in Ukraine.
