Plane carrying Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi makes emergency landing at Bhopal airport

The aircraft carrying Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi from Bengaluru made an emergency landing at Bhopal airport on Tuesday said Bhopal police.

The plane made a sudden landing due to bad weather, it added.



Bhopal police commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra told PTI that the plane will now take off from Bhopal at around 9.30 pm.

"We are on the way to the airport after getting information about the emergency landing," PTI quoted senior Congress leader Shoba Oza.

The two leaders were on their way to Delhi post the opposition unity meeting held in Bengaluru today. The meeting was chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and attended by leaders from 26 parties including AAP, TMC.
