Piyush Goyal to chair DPIIT workshop on FTAs, ease of doing business on September 22
DPIIT to hold workshop on September 22 to discuss ease of doing business, free trade agreements (FTAs) and trade reforms, with industry bodies and export promotion councils expected to flag implementation challenges and procedural bottlenecks.

The workshop will be held on September 22 under the chairmanship of Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
The industry official said the session will focus on an overview of FTAs, ease of doing business and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Suggestions will be sought from industry associations and export promotion councils on ground-level implementation challenges and procedural bottlenecks.
The Department of Commerce has already held a similar workshop to increase awareness about free trade agreements (FTAs) finalised by India.
India has implemented such pacts with countries including the UK, Oman, EFTA bloc, Australia and the UAE.
A trade pact with New Zealand will come into force from next month, and the India-EU trade pact is expected to be signed by December.
