Three suspected pro-Khalistanis were killed in a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police on Monday, TOI reported.

The encounter took place in Pilibhit district.

Police recovered two AK-series assault rifles and two Glock pistols from the scene. Authorities believe the individuals were involved in a grenade attack on a police post in Punjab's Gurdaspur district on December 19.

The Gurdaspur explosion

The December 19 attack targeted the abandoned Wadala Bangar police post in Kalanaur, Gurdaspur.

While an unverified social media post attributed the attack to the Khalistan Zindabad Force, no casualties or property damage were reported.

This incident marked the second explosion in Gurdaspur within 48 hours and the eighth such incident in Punjab since November 24.
