Photos of Amit Shah's car with CAA on number plate go viral, spark online debate

The image of the number plate having CAA on the car of Union Home Minister Amit Shah is going viral on social media. The news agency ANI posted a video on February 29, in which Amit Shah's car, with numberplate 'DL1 CAA 4421', can be seen. The video and image have gone viral on the social media. The viral images come amid reports the government is planning to notify the CAA Act 2019 before the Lok Sabha Elections.


The news agency ANI had posted the video with the caption, "Central Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi for the BJP CEC meeting." But, some people noticed the number plate of the car. The viral post has already garnering more than one lakh views, 2.3 thousand likes, and numerous comments until the news was written.


One social media person wrote - this means that CAA will definitely be implemented. Another user said - CAA was always on their minds.

MHA likely to Notify CAA before LS polls

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is expected to notify regulations for the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) before the commencement of the model code of conduct, as per sources cited by ANI.

The CAA aims to grant Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians, who fled from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and entered India prior to December 31, 2014.

On December 27, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized that the enforcement of the CAA cannot be halted as it is the established law of the country. He also accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of misinforming the public on this issue.

Protests erupted after the passage of CAA in 2019

After the CAA was passed by Parliament in December 2019 and subsequently received Presidential assent, widespread protests erupted across the nation.
