Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi for the second day on Tuesday for questioning in a money laundering case related to the alleged illegal phone tapping of NSE workers.

The retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer is being questioned by the federal investigation agency for the second day in a row.

The officer continues to respond to questions about the business and operations of a firm he floated for a security audit of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday.

The statement of the officer will be recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Pandey is facing two ED and CBI FIRs: illegal interception of NSE employees' phones by iSec Services Private Ltd, a business he formed, and violation of Securities and Exchange Board of India standards in performing NSE's system audit. The ED questioned him earlier this month about the suspected co-location scam at the NSE.

On Monday, the CBI announced that it had questioned Pandey and another former Mumbai police commissioner, Param Bir Singh, in connection with the Rs 100 crore extortion charges levelled against former minister Anil Deshmukh.
