Delhi petrol price: VAT reduced, rates to go down by Rs 8 a litre

The Delhi government has reduced the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol to 19.40% from 30% previously. This cut means petrol in the capital city will now be lesser by Rs 8 per litre.

The Delhi government has reduced the value-added tax (VAT) on petrol to 19.40% from 30% previously. This cut means petrol in the capital city will now be lesser by Rs 8 per litre.

The new rates will come into effect from midnight today.

The central government on the eve of Diwali had slashed excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and on diesel by Rs 10 per litre in a bid to bring down the rising burden due to increasing fuel prices.
