It said such interventions often slow down what is intended to be a quicker alternative to court litigation.
"While some level of court oversight is necessary to ensure fairness and legality, frequent or avoidable intervention can lead to inordinate delays and may also dilute the independence of the arbitral process," the committee said.

In its latest report on institutional alternative dispute resolution submitted in Parliament last week, the department-related standing committee on law and personnel has also flagged "limited global visibility" as a challenge for the country's alternative dispute resolution ecosystem and has suggested consistent quality in arbitral proceedings as one of the solutions.
