Notably, on November 26, which marks Constitution Day, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
The Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution in 1949 in the same building. The Constitution came into effect on January 26, 1950. While earlier November 26 used to be celebrated as National Law Day, in 2015 the Modi government announced that it would be observed as Constitution Day, marking the 125th birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.
Parliament will have the session with 21 sittings, taking up significant legislation and potentially reflecting the outcome of assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
The session may likely take up the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, having considering the recommendations from the joint parliamentary committee. The government is also anticipated to brief Parliament on the India-China disengagement efforts in eastern Ladakh.
