Pakistan’s Javeria Khanum arrives in India to marry her fiancé, thanks Indian Govt for providing her visa
In another case of cross-border love story, Javeria Khanum, a Pakistani woman from Karachi crossed the Attari-Wagah border to unite with her fiancé Sameer Khan, a resident of Kolkata. Javeria, who has been granted 45-day visa by the Indian government, was welcomed to the beats of dhol at the border by her fiancé Sameer. On her arrival, Javeria expressed her joy and gratitude towards the Indian government for granting her the opportunity to stay in the country and marry her partner.

The couple is set to tie the knot in January next year. This cross-border love saga evokes memories of a similar incident involving Seema Haider, another Pakistani woman, who crossed into India via Nepal to be with her partner Sachin Meena, whom she had befriended online. The couple subsequently started living together in Greater Noida. However, their story took a different turn as intelligence agencies raised concerns about Haider's unauthorized entry, prompting inquiries into the circumstances of her passage.

The couple, in their brief interaction with the media at Attari, shared the details of their unique love story, spanning over five years. Sameer Khan expressed his interest in marrying Javeria after spotting her photo on his mother's phone in May 2018 while he was studying in Germany. Despite facing two visa rejections and the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple's perseverance and patience ultimately paid off.

As they eagerly anticipate their January wedding, the couple expressed gratitude for the Indian government's approval of Javeria's visa. The groom-to-be conveyed his mother's overwhelming happiness at the prospect of their upcoming nuptials and hinted at an international guest list, with friends from his time in Germany, representing diverse countries, likely to attend the celebration.

The couple later left for Kolkata in a flight from Amritsar, embarking on the next chapter of their cross-border love story. (With Agency Inputs)
