Pakistan to pay price for sponsoring terror against India: India's permanent UN rep

New Delhi: India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish, on Tuesday pulled up Pakistan at the UN Security Council, accusing Islamabad of continuing cross-border terrorism and warning that it has to accept that it would face consequences for sponsoring terror activities against India.

Harish made the remarks during the UN Security Council Open Debate on "Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the UN-Centred International System."

Addressing the UNSC, Harish said Pakistan had consistently harboured and supported terrorism, violent extremism and anti-India activities since its creation. "Pakistan will have to accept that there are consequences to its sponsorship of cross-border terrorism. Pakistan's harnessing of the malevolent forces of terrorism, religious extremism, violent radicalism, and anti-India rhetoric has continued unabated since its creation."
