In its supplementary charge sheet filed before NIA court in Jammu, the anti-terror agency has charged Saeed in his individual capacity and as chief of the banned LeT and its active proxy organisation TRF. The group first claimed responsibility but later withdrew it from its social media accounts.
After the attack, India carried out Operation Sindoor in May last year, targeting hideouts and launchpads of the terrorists. Saeed is also designated as an individual terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, by the Union home ministry. According to NIA, Saeed has been charged under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and UAPA.
NIA has also invoked the penal section against the accused for waging war against India and hatching a conspiracy from across the border in the charge sheet. The charge sheet, filed in continuation of the original 1,597-page charge sheet, provides details of Pakistan's conspiracy, Saeed's role, and supporting evidence collected by NIA in the case through scientific probe and on-ground examination, the agency said in a statement.
In its earlier chargesheet filed on December 15, 2025, NIA had charge sheeted Pakistani terrorist Sajid Jatt as an accused, along with three terrorists killed by security forces during Operation Mahadev in July 2025, as well as two arrested accused. It had also charged the proscribed LeT-TRF terrorist organisation as a legal entity for its role in planning, facilitating and executing the Pahalgam terror attack, the statement added.
