Over a month passes with no sign of Arunachal natives who went missing at Chaglagam circle

It's more than a month two natives of Arunachal Pradesh who are residents of Duiliang village under Hayuliang-Goiliang circle of Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh have been missing from Chaglagam circle in Indo-China border.

The duo Bateilum Tikro and his friend Bayingso Manyu is missing since August 24 last.

Dishanso Chikro, younger brother of Tikro in a letter to Hayuliang assembly constituency MLA Dasanglu Pul stated that they left their village on August 19 in search of herb at high altitude hills along the line of actual control (LAC).


“It is disheartening to inform you that till date my brother and his friend have not returned from the jungle,” Chikro said in the letter, handed over to the MLA in the district at Hayuliang.

“Other villagers had seen them near the Indo-China border on August 24 last. Thus, we have tried our level best to trace them in and around the Indo-China border and many other possible locations. But, all our tireless physical and mentally efforts have gone in vain to ascertain the fact about their missing,” the letter said, adding “we have lodged a first information report (FIR) in this regard with Khupa police station under Hayuliang circle”.

Since there is no sign of their whereabouts, we seek young personal intervention to look into the matter seriously and take quick steps to trace them at the earliest possible, the letter added.

In January this year Indian Army handed over Arunachal Pradesh teenager Miram Taron to his family. On January 27, Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) handed over Taron to the Indian Army. He had gone missing since January 18 while he was at the international border.
